Why Do I Carry A Concealed Glock 21 .45 ACP?
I get it, that heading was a bit specific, but hey, I love my Glock pistol. It’s more than just a firearm, it is a very effective tool that when properly handled is an amazing piece of engineering that serves one purpose; it ensures that my family and I at least have a chance to survive an attack by someone who has decided that their life is less valuable than mine. Why do I say that? Well, it is quite simple, if someone makes that choice and they engage me, a couple of things will quickly come into play that I will strive to utilize as elements of complete surprise. For one, I carry concealed and regularly practice drawing my weapon and shooting (I practice with a SIRT training pistol every day…yes…every day.). The second element is that the assailant (and soon to be victim) will most-likely not be prepared to handle the well rehearsed and violent response that I will deliver to them without hesitation. I realize that I may not win, but without my gun at my side, my family and I would most-certainly be on the losing end of this situation. I have no desire to harm another human being, but rest assured, if someone decides to make the decision to attack, then they alone will have to face the consequences of their actions, which may very well be fatal. I realize how dark some of this may sound, but it is reality. You would think that Americans would have long since moved past the necessity for such extreme measures of self defense, but the truth is that it will never end. Our broken world is filled with overwhelming sin and brokenness that leads people down all types of dark paths. Some of those dark paths cross over the paths of those who are just trying to make it through life by living as law abiding citizens who are focused on providing for their families and making it through daily life. I don’t understand the inner-workings on these counter-cultural individuals who choose crime over living within the confines of our laws. I obviously have absolutely no control over the actions of others. The only thing that I have control over are my actions and my responses to the actions of others.
Are Guns Really Necessary?
Yes. Not convinced? Do you want to be a victim or do you want the ability to defend your God-given right to life and the lives of those whom you love? If you say no, you are doing nothing more than lying to yourself to justify your preconceived notions that guns are somehow bad. There are not any bad guns, there are only bad people who’s actions are evil. I get it, the Fake News media is pumping out insane propagandized rhetoric trying to convince the American public that guns are the problem. That is a flat out lie. The problem is not guns, the problem is that we are having a mental health crisis in America that is being swept under the rug for reasons that I don’t fully understand and surely don’t support. Mass shootings are becoming more mainstream as each year rolls by. Insane Democrat-Socialist lawmakers are trying to demonize the famous American black rifle otherwise known as the AR platform. The AR platform is something that is not only utilized by our law enforcement and military communities, it is also used as a weapon of self defense by many American families. There was a recent event, as of the writing of this article (Click Here To Read It), where a pregnant Florida woman killed an intruder with an AR rifle. In the insane world that the liberal left wants us to live in, that woman and her child would be dead, but thanks to her ability to own and operate an AR rifle, the criminal is dead and she gets to go on living. What a story of rising up to the occasion she’ll get to tell her child someday! There are countless examples throughout our history where people have fallen victim to horrible crimes because of their inability to defend themselves. There are also a large number of potential crimes that ended in a very different manner than the attacker had planned for the victims. In these latter cases, the victims were transformed into the victors through the utilization of their guns. Guns are the ultimate equalizer. You don’t have to be a skilled martial artist or other self defense guru to win a fight when guns are involved. That doesn’t mean that you don’t need to know how to handle it; in fact, you should become as proficient with it as possible and work through scenarios that you could potentially encounter in your travels. The point is to be prepared and to be vigilant. I also recommend that you learn to pay close attention to your surroundings at all times when you are in public places. I have a heightened sense of awareness that just happens to be part of who I am. I hide it very well, but I am continuously aware of my surroundings, especially when I out with my family. I pay close attention to the actions and words of those who are in close proximity to me. This has become second nature. Don’t confuse situational awareness with being paranoid or worrying about terrible things happening…that is not what it is at all. Situational awareness is all about body language, facial expressions, tone/volume of people’s voice, and other external factors that most people have a hard time hiding. My job as the defender of my family is to carefully read the situations that I am in and prepare the correct response, if any. It is important to be mentally prepared well in advance of getting entangled into any situations that may require the application of a firearm. They are amazing tools, but the are completely unforgiving and bullets can’t be recalled once they have been sent down range. When the time comes to repel borders, you need to ensure that you don’t overreact. Your actions must be swift and deliberate to ensure the outcome is within the confines of the law. The last thing you want to do is spend time in jail because of a terrible misjudgement that led to the wrongful death of someone. If you’re hot-headed, I recommend that you carry a water gun instead…
Stand Firm
If you haven’t already, you have a choice to make. Are you going to continue living as a potential victim or are you going to live with the ability to effectively defend yourself from evil? On a much larger scale, owning a firearm also puts you into the group of American citizens that ensure that We The People are not subjected to Tyranny and Oppression by the lunatics on the political left otherwise known as the Democrat-Socialist party.
